Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp milk (optional, if dough is too dry)

Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • mixing bowl
  • pastry cutter or fork
  • measuring cups and spoons
  • oven

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add Greek yogurt and stir just until dough comes together. If too dry, add milk as needed.
  5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pat into a 1-inch thick round and cut biscuits with a round cutter.
  6. Place biscuits on prepared sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Serve warm with butter, honey, or jam. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Reheat in the oven to restore freshness.
