  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • seeds or herbs, to taste (optional topping)

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  2. Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead briefly for about 1 minute. Shape into a round loaf or smaller rolls.
  4. Place shaped dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with seeds or herbs if desired.
  5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown and crusty.
  6. Cool slightly on a wire rack before slicing. Serve warm with butter or your favorite spread.
