Apple Fritters Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup nonfat milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp powdered sugar, for topping

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Stir in milk and beaten egg until just combined.
  3. Fold in chopped apples, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.
  4. Spray a nonstick skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat.
  5. Drop batter by spoonfuls into the skillet and flatten slightly. Cook until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Remove fritters to a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Best served warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1–2 days or refrigerate for up to 4 days.
