  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 oz)

Equipment

  • slow cooker
  • Large skillet

  • measuring spoons
  • can opener

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.

  3. Transfer the cooked beef mixture to the crock pot.
  4. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
  5. Stir in the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, and beef broth.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot with toppings like cheese, sour cream, or green onions.

Notes

For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne. This chili is great for freezing and perfect for game day!
