Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup milk of choice
  • 0.25 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk (for icing)
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract (for icing)

Equipment

  • jar or airtight container
  • small mixing bowl
  • whisk or spoon

Method

  1. In a jar or bowl, mix rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until combined.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon to make the cinnamon swirl mixture.
  3. Stir half of the cinnamon sugar into the oats. Swirl in the remaining mixture gently, leaving visible ribbons.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight until thick and creamy.
  5. Whisk softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle-able.
  6. In the morning, stir oats lightly and drizzle with cream cheese icing. Sprinkle extra cinnamon if desired.

Notes

Do not overmix the cinnamon swirl—visible ribbons create the best flavor. Make the cream cheese topping smooth and drizzle just before serving for the best texture.
