Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups green beans (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)

  • 1 cup crispy fried onions

  • Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and translucent.
  • Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Drain excess grease from the skillet.
  • Add green beans to the skillet and stir to combine.
  • Stir in cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.
  • Smooth the mixture evenly in the skillet and sprinkle fried onions over the top.
  • Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and onions are golden brown.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use 80/20 ground beef for best flavor. Frozen green beans work especially well and don’t need to be thawed. For deeper flavor, deglaze the pan with beef broth after browning the meat.
