Equipment

Ingredients

  • 85 g unsalted butter
  • 6 cups regular marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Bubbles (or Rice Krispies cereal)
  • 2–3 drops red food coloring
  • 2–3 drops pink food coloring

Instructions

  • Prepare a Bain-Marie by boiling 1/2 cup water in a small pot. Place a large heatproof bowl on top, ensuring it doesn’t touch the water.
  • Add butter and marshmallows to the heatproof bowl. Stir until completely melted and smooth.
  • Add Rice Bubbles cereal and stir until evenly coated with marshmallow mixture.
  • Mix in red and pink food coloring until desired brain-like shade is achieved.
  • With greased hands, shape mixture into brain shapes and place on parchment-lined tray to set.

Notes

Best eaten the day they are made for maximum chewiness. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Grease hands lightly with butter or oil to make shaping easier.
