Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup red and green M&Ms, plus extra for topping
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips (or semi-sweet)
  • 1/3 cup pretzels, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup potato chips, lightly crushed
  • 2 tablespoons festive sprinkles

Equipment

  • mixing bowls for wet and dry ingredients
  • whisk
  • rubber spatula for folding in mix-ins
  • baking sheets lined with parchment paper
  • Cookie scoop medium size
  • wire cooling rack

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together melted, cooled butter, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla, and egg until just combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet until just combined—do not overmix.
  3. Gently fold in M&Ms, white chocolate chips, pretzels, crushed potato chips, and sprinkles with a spatula until evenly distributed.
  4. Use a medium cookie scoop to drop dough balls (about 1.5 inches) onto prepared sheets, spacing 2–3 inches apart. Press extra M&Ms and pretzels on top for a festive look.
  5. Bake for 11–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden and centers look slightly soft. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Make sure your melted butter is fully cooled before mixing the dough for the perfect chewy texture. Fold in the pretzels and chips gently at the end to maintain crunch. For extra holiday color, press extra M&Ms and sprinkles on top before baking!
