- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until combined.
- Fold in chopped Oreos, M&Ms, and chocolate chips if using.
- Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough and roll into balls. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
- Press extra M&Ms onto the tops of each dough ball.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Do not overbake—remove cookies when centers still look slightly underdone for the best chewy texture. Press extra M&Ms on top before baking for a bakery-style look.
