Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 15 Valentine Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup Valentine M&Ms, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Equipment

  • mixing bowls
  • electric mixer
  • baking sheets
  • parchment paper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until combined.
  6. Fold in chopped Oreos, M&Ms, and chocolate chips if using.
  7. Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough and roll into balls. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
  8. Press extra M&Ms onto the tops of each dough ball.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  10. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Do not overbake—remove cookies when centers still look slightly underdone for the best chewy texture. Press extra M&Ms on top before baking for a bakery-style look.
